The Station floors supporting the large shed and Fire engine parking area were showing visual signs of subsidence and cracking, impacting on the internal walls and floor slabs
We believe the reason for this movement is possibly the impact of excessive leakage from stormwaters, and the abnormally dry conditions impacting on the re-active clays beneath the slabs.
Resinject initially “slab jacked” the affected areas followed by the injecting at different depths forming piers to consolidate the ground and minimise the risk of future movement, basically stabilising the treatment area.
As can be seen in the before and after photos, cracks were closed and slabs re-levelled, minimising the risk of any future movement.
It should be noted that this work was carried out in a full day, minimising the impact we have on essential services that should the Fire Brigade have utilised any other methods of repair it would have impacted on them for weeks – needless to say all were very happy with the results achieved
