The Site
The double-storey, brick veneer house in Brisbane, QLD. The house was built on clay subsoil.
The Issue
At the site inspection, Resinject found the home had subsided 35mm in one corner where a blocked stormwater downpipe was located. When it rained, the blockage would cause isolated flooding, weakening the surrounding ground, causing the corner of the home to subside. As the house was built on clay subsoil, the ground expanded and contracted as moisture levels changed. This was causing the house to sink and fall.
The Resinject Solution
Resinject used its structural resin injection solution, RSJ170, to deliver a non-invasive and cost-effective alternative. The resin injection solution improved the ground-bearing capacity of the soil beneath the corner area of the home.
The Brisbane home had subsided 35mm at the affected corner and was successfully re-leveled via 5 injection points which were inserted at multiple depths along the external perimeter. The work was completed in a fews hours without causing any damage to the garden.
