The Site
A large retail loading dock based in QLD.
The Issue
Due to excessive water erosion from recent rain events a 10 cubic meter void had formed under the loading dock foundations.
The void caused the overlaying concrete slabs to settle below original levels. If the subsidence continued, the area would become unusable, causing delivery delays and loss of revenue. The client had considered alternative solutions for this project, such as excavation and slab replacement, which would have shut down the area for up to three weeks.
The Resinject Solution
Resinject aimed to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level, strengthen the ground, and fill the large void for long-term stability.
Resinject’s RSJ170 structural resin was selected for its ability to achieve these objectives within hours, compared to the weeks required by traditional, invasive slab replacement methods.
Resinject injected RSJ170 deep beneath the sunken area, filling the void to maximize ground support. The expanding resin gently lifted the slab back to level, with staff closely monitoring conditions to ensure the correct level of lift was achieved. This method allowed the work to be completed with minimal disruption, closing the area for only 5 hours and enabling the client to maintain operations without significant logistical or financial impact.
“We are very happy with the solution that Resinject provided which was both cost and time effective. The team was professional and efficient. I would recommend Resinject to others and would call on them if a similar issue occurred in the future.” M.K – Project Manager
