The Site
A busy bus depot that serves as a central location where the buses are stored when not in use, undergo maintenance and repairs, and start or end their routes.
The Issue
The concrete parking slabs across the site were beginning to crack. This was due to the ground beneath the slabs settling and compacting unevenly overtime.
This meant that every time a 16 tonne bus drove over one of the slabs, it was “bouncing” causing further damage to the concrete and posing a safety risk to users and damage to the asset.
The Resinject Solution
The client trusted Resinject to rectify their sunken slabs and provide a cost effective solution. Slab jacking was identified as an effective way to address the issues of the sunken slabs without the need for complete replacement.
By injecting Resinject’s “RSJ170” Structural Resin directly underneath the slab in a very close pattern the Resinject team were able to gain the correct lift to close the existing cracks and stabilise the slabs. Making the site safe and usable again.
