The Site
A beautiful 95-year-old residential home in Kendall Park, Queensland. The property’s construction included external and internal strip footings, double brick walls and a tiled roof.
The Issue
The building’s strip footing foundations, on reactive clays, had become affected by water ingress due to poor drainage.
The house was on a slope with no drainage at the top end. The soft soil conditions had caused the building to shift, resulting in widespread cracking throughout the building. The cracks were visible in most walls and the floors were becoming noticeably uneven. The significant cracking and unlevel floors indicated major structural issues due to severe differential settlement
The Resinject Solution
Resinject was chosen to bring the house back to its former glory. Resinject recommended remediation the building using their RSJ170 structural resin. RSJ170 is an engineered polyurethane resin that expands when injected into the ground.
The resin strengthens the group and re-levels the over laying foundation. The Resinject Team injected the structural resin from 1.5meters down to 3 meters. This achieved a 20mm lift (which is a fantastic result on an old home), which levelled and stabilised the foundation for the client who was ready to complete a renovation.
